Graduating with a BFA in Glass from Jacksonville University in North Florida and working in an MFA program for sculpture at Herron School of Art and design in Indianapolis, IN, the artist got many chances to travel and visit different studios. Part of working in different studios and eventually participating in a mobile furnace and annealer build at Horizon Glassworks in Ubud Bali started a love saving old equipment and led to building and furnishing individual pieces to start a private studio for her own work. Between a home studio and another amazing opportunity to travel the United States working at festivals and events demonstrating and honing in the details of her stylized nature and figurative sculpture a new practice took shape that could evolve and speak to her collaboration with the world around her.
After developing skill and practicing through teaching and demonstrating for over a decade Jamie now has a home studio to concentrate on her portfolio work while selling custom prices and meaningful memorial glass keeping her work concentrating on community and nature.
